Coatesville Clinic Featured
Our Coatesville Clinic was recently featured in the May/June issue of the Pennsylvania Dental Journal with an article titled “AIDS Care Group, Coatesville Clinic Form Groundbreaking Partnership”.
“Historically, dental care for the uninsured, underinsured or for those living with HIV/AIDS has been difficult to access. Many of those same patients have had better access to medical care due to several initiatives, such as better Medicaid insurance reimbursement rates and investment in public health medical facilities, while access to dental care has continued to lag, especially in rural and urban communities. In addition to inadequate insurance coverage and reimbursement rates, access to care is also limited by poverty, disease stigma and lack of transportation.
Dr. Howell Strauss with the AIDS Care Group and PDA member dentist Dr. Barry Cohen have recently undertaken a significant initiative to help HIV/AIDS patients gain access to dental care.”
